Maybe Mark should run the full season. Clint Bowyer has another good finish at CA, while Brian Vickers gives Toyota there first top 10 in NNCS. Joe Nemechek, J.J. Yeley, David Ragan have solid top 16 finshes. 2. smartliberal posted: 02.26.2007 - 3:22 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Harvick was in second place in the last couple laps, but was then passed by Gordon. 3. biffle16 posted: 02.26.2007 - 9:43 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Matt becomes the first driver besides Jeff Gordon to win more than once at California Speedway. This race says he led 13 laps. Typo. He actually led 133. 4. Thomas posted: 02.26.2007 - 3:17 pm Rate this comment: (0) (5) Way to go Matt!!!! Kevin Harvick, karma's a bitch. Sometimes, it's better to be lucky than good, and you were lucky last week, but not this week. 5. First race for Team Red Bull. I believe Danny Bahar's name is spelled with one N. 7. Jacksonedb posted: 02.26.2007 - 11:20 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I went to this race! Here are some highlights: Scott Riggs got loose coming out of turn 2 on the 7th lap, went head-on into the outside wall, got hit by McMurray, and hit Sorenson, who then hit the wall. Truex blew a motor running 5th. Junior was running good until he got a flat tire. He had to pit, and was a lap down. He had made the lap up during green, and his motor went away. He came back out of the garage later, but the engine blew & he spun in turn 3. Dave Blaney was running great and won the race off pit road, but was penalized, and soon after that he went to the garage. Kasey Kahne led the first few laps, but, like Junior, his motor went away, and he went to the garage. He also came back out later, but it gave up on him during a pit stop. Sterling Marlin suddenly spun and hit the wall right after a pit stop, looked like a flat tire. He came back out later, but his car wouldn't work right. John Andretti was running in the top 20 before he had problems. Casey Mears started 10th, but his car was horrible and he ended up 4 laps down. Bobby Labonte was running consistently in the top 10 before he got loose and pancaked the wall in turn four, and fell to 18th. He later got caught up in a wreck, and the front of his car was smushed. Lastly, David Reutimann got tapped by Biffle going into turn 3 with 7 to go, and he went head-on into the wall at about 160mph. His car went airborne for a while, but didn't flip over. His onboard camera showed that he wasn't moving for about 10 seconds after the wreck. Bobby Labonte and Ricky Rudd ended up tangling with eachother coming out of turn 4, also. Reutimann was okay, but shaken. 8. He has a bruised foot and said he couldn't breathe after the impact. 10. Easily the most exciting California race I've seen. Easily. 11. mk17ce99 posted: 02.27.2007 - 10:00 pm Rate this comment: (0) (1) Kenseth's second career cup victory and 6th all together (4 in Busch). First win for Chip Bolin as a crew chief, and in his second start as a crew chief. First win for Kenseth with a sponsor other than Dewalt. In all of his 14 wins they came with Dewalt as a sponsor. He has never won with a special scheme but did win with a dewalt special scheme in 2002, but that doesn't really count because its still Dewalt. First win for Roush Fenway racing in Nextel Cup and like someone also said first race that was won on unleaded fuel. 12. Paul Menard: 10th start (20th) Red Bull Racing: after 3 failed attempts at fielding a car for a Nextel Cup race, Brian Vickers gives them a Top 10 (10th) Toyota: first Top 10 result in Nextel Cup 13. Im so glad that he was okay. And he wins my vote for best paint scheme anyday. And Vickers had to give Toyota its first top 10 (I still remember talledega 06 very clearly) 14. Or it could have been a mistake. You know, mistakes, everyone makes them. Even you! Imagine that. 15. I know it was a 3 hour race, but Jayski said it was scheduled to start at 3:30 PM Eastern Time, 12:30PM Pacific Time. Even with a 3 hour 36 minute race, it should've ended around 4:15ish, right? Sunset would've been around 5:45pm Pacific. Conditions looked pretty similar to the 2020 Auto Club 400, except the sun didn't come out at all. 26. However, he wrecked in the first two races in 2007, in this race Scott Riggs lost his car and took Jamie and Reed Sorensen with him. But Jamie rebounded with a string of strong runs, even getting up to 7th in points after race 9 at Talladega. But then of course, Jamie became aware that he was on a hot streak, got in his own head, and a slew of poor results followed. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
