The race itself seemed like something from a comic book when a sewer main broke just behind the backstretch, and raw sewage began flowing across the track. The race was red flagged for something like 2 hours while repairs could be made. As the afternoon wore on it looked as though rain could be a factor, but the race was completed at dusk. There was a multi-car accident in turn 1 involving Bobby Labonte, Terry Labonte, Mike Skinner, Ricky Rudd and others. 3. Oil on the track was apparently the culprit as virtually every one of the top 10 cars went into turn 1 and spun around. 6. His sponsor at the time was Tabasco and he said that morning he put Tabasco all over his pancakes and he said the red flag couldn't have come at a better time cause he really had to go. Then he got the announcers to keep a secret about where his car was running best. Then, Buddy Baker said that he was running good. Waltrip followed by saying "Oh yeah, that's Baker. Any other one would be jumping up and down, but not Baker, it's always pretty good." It's on YouTube somewhere. 7. He got loose under #18 Bobby Labonte. #26 Johnny Benson crashes #50 loses it by himself and crashes in turn 2. #75 tries to check up but ends up scraping the wall. Huge crash on lap 202, Bobby Labonte loses it by himself, several others involved. Rusty Wallace, Rudd, Skinner, Dale Sr, Mayfield, and Marlin just to name a few. Terry Labonte and Rudd caused the second part of the crash, after B Labonte was already in the wall. Chain reaction, basically. Two cars crash in TURN 2 AGAIN, Irvan and Trickle made contact and smashed against the wall hard. 8. What is that thing on the bottom?" A few seconds later, the camera pans and shows a completely torn up #2 car, and Buddy Baker chimes in "Look, he's telling his crew, 'I'm catching Rusty!'" 13. 18fan posted: 08.01.2010 - 1:33 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Ernie Irvan had a top 5 car and was taken out on a restart by the lapped car of Dick Trickle. Gordon kept his top 5 streak alive by passing Lepage with 3 laps to go. Jeff Burton very easily could've won this race, but it took him about 100 laps to get his lap back after he pitted with an overheating problem. 14. Darrell Waltrip ran well before an engine problem sent him to the garage for several laps. 26.
