Neil Bonnett broke his sternum in a late race crash. Due to the injury
Neil was forced to miss the next three races.

This race featured an outstanding last thirty or so laps as Mark Martin
drove under Dale several times and just couldn't ever clear him.

Norm Benning makes his third and final Cup start of the season and goes
out with a mechanical issue again. This was his penultimate Cup start,
despite many more future attempts, with a start-and-park at Darlington
in early 1993 as his only other raceday appearance in the series. He'd
go on to more success as an ARCA driver.
