Rusty Wallace did a great job, in just three days after I was born. 3. Neal posted: 06.25.2008 - 10:58 am Rate this comment: (1) (0) Wasn't this the race where Butch Miller slowed down because he lost his brakes and Rick Wilson rear-ended him so hard that Miller's fuel cell ruptured and started a fire? I remember Wilson banged up his ankles pretty badly and had to be carried from the flaming carnage. 5. Which overall is a pretty-good qualifying run for an ASA driver playing with the big boys. 11. Still nice to see Lennie did have a sponsor for his last race. 15. Sebastien posted: 12.16.2011 - 7:24 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Oups #90 was Pond of course, sorry. 16. In all, there were 27 wins for Pontiac during the decade. The winners: Rusty Wallace 16 Richard Petty 5 Tim Richmond 2 Neil Bonnett 2 Cale Yarborough 1 Morgan Shepherd 1 Rusty and Neil were the only drivers to win with the 1988-89 Grand Prix. Rusty was also the only person to win with the 2+2 body in 1986-1987. Only Tim and Cale won with the LeMans. Petty, Tim, and Morgan were the only drivers to win with the original 1981-1985 style Grand Prix 24. Still Martin got back in the race and they salvaged a top-20 thanks to all the other retirements, albeit 47 laps down due to all the repairs. 26. Watching it now he sounds the same as he does 30 years later calling truck races. 27. Chase9Fan posted: 06.17.2020 - 2:04 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Richard Petty out after 76 laps with a clutch? Did they not fix those back then? I mean I guess it could have blown the motor but still. 28.
