The previous race at Richmond and this Dover event cost Bill Elliott the
1984 Cup. He outpointed Labonte and Gant for the balance of the schdule.

Starting line-up (based on owner's points after qualifying was rained
out) indicates Tommy Gale was initially assigned Elmo Langley's entry
but was replaced by Clark Dwyer.
