I have two sources (including NASCAR.com and "Forty Years of Stock Car
Racing, Volume 4 by Greg Fielden) that say Bobby Allison finished 10th
and Ron Bouchard finished 11th.

This race was in a 4 hour red flag period for rain and finally ended
around 9:30 PM.

Made the last comment on the wrong race. The red flag period actually
happened during the 1982 race.

that's right, it said on NASCAR.com, it was Allison and Bouchard feud.
By the way, the TV at Michigan did not or did know that we make it on
the show. Did you see two of them had top ten or out on TV at Michigan?

JP, Matt left that comment about the red flag on the wrong race. He was
referring to a race at Michigan in 1982 that was red-flagged for 4 1/2
hours due to a tornado hitting the racetrack.

By the way, this race ran caution-free.

i dont consider this a bad race at all. We had a 2 car race til the very
end with no cautions, and it woulda been a 3 way race to the very end
had Elliott not had to make an extra stop for fuel.

ESPN broadcast this race. Bob Jenkins and Larry Nuber were in the booth
with Dick Berggren in the pits.

Races like this are why Labonte won the championship even though DW won
the most races. This was DW's 4th win of 1984 and Terry finished 2nd in
3 of those 4 races, whereas DW finished outside the top 20 in both of
Terry's wins in 1984
