Anderson's #27! As a Cale fan, I was glad to see it. His wins fell off a bit in the 2 years he drove that car. He was fast in many races while he drove it, but many times, the car wouldn't hold up. 4. myself posted: 02.15.2007 - 3:11 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) HEYYYYYYYYYYY! Where's Brewster Baker?!!!! It was their final race with DiGard, however. 9. After running Benny Parsons at Rockingham for this race he brought back his old partner in crime Donnie Allison for one last outing in his red #1 Oldsmobile. However while the pairing had resulted in several prior victories here Allison would qualify midpack and finish well down the running order after crashing out early on. This reunion ended up being a one-off as Ellington hired Lake Speed to take over his car full-time in 1983. Allison would spend most of 1983 on the sidelines and made just four further Cup starts after his one. 16. The Thunderbird marked the only time longtime NASCAR Busch Series owner Marvin Thackston fielded his team in the Cup series, he had run cars for Glenn and his brother Dale Jarrett on the second level tour during the 1982 season. Glenn Jarrett's car here was also sponsored by Budweiser Light, a new light beer that had been launched a year earlier as an extension of the Budweiser brand. Budweiser Light later had its name shortened to Bud Light but while it has been very heavily advertised in the United States over the years this is still the one and only time to date Bud Light sponsored a Cup car. 17. rateus posted: 02.08.2021 - 6:58 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Driver Change - Ferrell Harris qualified the #73 before handing over to Steve Moore for the 3 laps it managed on race day. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
