Gary Balough's best career finish (7th) and last of 2 Top 10s, Steve
Moore gets his best finish ever (18th), and Jim Sauter and Rick Wilson
score a Top 10 for the first time.

Gary Balough then went on to prison for drug trafficing charges as did
Billie Harvey, Tim Richmond's car owner.

Had Petty not flinched, he may have won.
Rain was emminent...
As I remember, Petty was ahead of Waltrip going into turn four, racing
to the line. Petty lifted slightly when, in his words, "it was like
somebody poured a cup of water on the windshield."
Waltrip edged him at the line by inches. They circled for one or two
laps and the race was called.

Fords haven't been worth a damn as a whole since Robert Yates Racing
fell apart.

I'm putting this on here because footage was used for the movie Six Pack:

Country singer and Actor Kenny Rogers has died at the age of 81 last
night. Rogers had many hit songs, including, Lucille, The Gambler, Lady,
Love Will Turn You Around (featured in Six Pack), Islands in the Stream
w/ Dolly Parton, and many others.

Brewster Baker made his big time comeback in this race after surging
back up the short track ranks and he had it in the bag until he suddenly
pulled his Budweiser #49 Ford into the garage right after a pit stop to
confront a Texan Sheriff that was trying to kidnap some kids he was
planning to adopt. Poor Terk Logan got collected and taken out by a
crash in the pits as a result of the unusual move.

@9, HB Bailey qualified the car, I'd assume Dick May bought the ride off
him when he missed the field himself.

The line-up for this race also shows Elliott Forbes-Robinson qualified
P40 in a Buick, no idea why he didn't take the start.
