Cannot see hood clearly or rear end at all, so CAM may have been a sponsor also, but looks like Shoneys was primary. 2. The prize for Cecil was a fiberglass fishing boat with trailer and 40 horse Mercury outboard.I was "crew chief"and the award was $200 worth of proto tools, some which I still have, along with a silver plate snifter. No great strategy, we just ran that poorly in qualifying and stayed out of trouble and rode to a 16th finish. I thought why give a boat as a prize? There was never time to use it. Monday morning back in Hendersonville NC, Cecil sold the rig the local marine dealer and the proceeds were put towards the racing operation. We lived week to week. 4. Cale Yarborough won $5,000 from Plaza Pontiac just for leading lap 5. Later in the race, when Cale encountered braking problems, Junior Johnson arrange the help from Richard Childress who occupied the neighoring pit stoll. Both cars were pitting simultaneously in order for Cale to use Richard's rear bumper as a braking aid. As for @1 - all photos from the race that I have (NASCAR Yearbook and newspapers) show only CAM2 logos on the Marcis' car. 5. rateus posted: 05.22.2020 - 4:28 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Driver Change - starting line-up shows David Sisco qualified the #16 that Ed Negre jumped into after missing the field in his own ride. 6. Unfortunately it only mentioned Negre's Dodge. 7. rateus posted: 02.14.2021 - 11:20 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) In addition to the above, Billy McGinnis qualified for Harold Miller and Bob Burcham qualified for Henley Gray. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
