Jimmy Hensley's sponsor was Lonesome Pine Raceway, a local track in
Coeburn, Va. Coeburn is about 60 miles away from Bristol, TN. Lots of at
the time cup stars and future Busch and Cup racers raced at this track,
such as Bobby Allison, Tommy Ellis, Jack Ingram, Harry Gant, Alan
Kulwicki, and Hensley.

Darrell Waltrip had the fastest car early but had carburetor problems
and fell back enough to give Cale the lead.

Geoff Bodine.

Earl Brooks qualified for Skip Manning, Dean Dalton qualified for Frank
Warren and Elmo Langley qualified for Ed Negre.
