This was a partnership that would last through the end of 1980. Johnson also had another entry in the race with Earl Ross. 5. Junior had been able to buy out Richard Howard's ownership of the #11 thanks to Carling Breweries and the merging of the #11 with Earl Ross' #52. Cale was happy, Junior said, "This is really getting competitive," while Baker and Bud Moore were stewing. Neil Bonnett tore out a good percentage of inside guardrail during this race. 6. It was a Chevelle owned by Lou Vigilone that Cecil kept at his Mills River shop. This was in exchange for Cecil helping with the prep of the car when Joe Mihalic drove the car. We also pitted the car on occasion. 7. Rob posted: 01.27.2017 - 3:12 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) To post #4. This was not Cale's first win with Junior. The Southeastern 500 at Bristol in 1973 was the first. 8. @Statscrash posted: 08.17.2018 - 1:14 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) to #5 was Bonnett a relief driver? Because I don't see him listed in the results. 9. The two alternates for this race were Larry Richardson and Dick May, both in '72 Chevrolets. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
