|| *Comments on the 1956 unnamed race (1956-25):* View the most recent comment <#14> | Post a comment <#post> Tweet 1. gus holzmueller posted: 11.20.2004 - 4:30 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) the track was very dangerous. clint mchugh,28, was killed trying to qualify for the race.he was killed on the 3rd turn after his car hurlted the embankment and landed upside down in a small lake next to the track. thomas "cotton"priddy,27,was the second death. the crash came on the first turn when the car became airborn and mr priddy seat belt broke and was thrown out. with the dust of the dirt track he was run over by several driver and died 14 minutes after being admitted to crittenden county hospital. priddy and his wife were traveling with the mchughs and staying at the same hotel. "priddy,noted that mchugh had room 13 before his death and said, i'm sure glad i didn't have that room number." 2. When Moody protested, NASCAR rechecked the scoring & said no, Paschal had won. NASCAR later reversed their decision & officially declared Ralph Moody the winner. 9.
