Quite An Interesting Guy. http://www.legendsofnascar.com/Hilly_Rife.htm ----- For The 2nd Link, This Race Was The 1st (& Only) Of What Was Suppose To Be x3 Races @ Williams Grove; Rain Cancelled Both. http://racersreunion.com/tmc-chase/gallery/64991/1954-williams-grove-ad#gallery_img 2. Herb Thomas leads home Dick Rathman in a 1-2 finish for the fabulous Hudson Hornets as West Coast young gun Hershel McGriff comes home third in his Oldsmobile. 3. gary24fan posted: 04.14.2020 - 8:10 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) Looks like Gene Holcomb's car owner was probably Grimes Holcomb based on the following link. Grimes is listed in the car owner standings in the 1955 NASCAR record book covering the 1954 season. I'm guessing this would also be the case for 1954 race #34 at Langhorne and probably race #19 at New Oxford in 1955 as the book this comes from seems to focus on Nash cars: https://books.google.com/books?id=Chd-CwAAQBAJ&pg=PA23&lpg=PA23&dq=Grimes+Holcomb+NASCAR&source=bl&ots=l-jZKs5hpK&sig=ACfU3U2O72tOBkkwW6HEBMO-xGxEQaoPww&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjLudbAj-noAhVfmnIEHYEcD2QQ6AEwA3oECAsQKQ#v=onepage&q=Grimes%20Holcomb%20NASCAR&f=false 4. Race featured entries from Hudson, Nash, Ford, Willys, Oldsmobile, Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge, Lincoln, and Mercury. 27 cars running at the finish was pretty good for 1954 ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
