Sean posted: 06.13.2010 - 2:41 am Rate this comment: (0) (1) I think I'd personally call the 2001 Dodge entry a foreign-owned car since Dodge had no interest in reentering NASCAR until Daimler purchased Chrysler, and after Daimler left Chrysler go, Dodge has not been very committed to staying, given that they only have Penske left of note... I'm puzzled as to why this is called the first road course race when there had been races at the Daytona Beach/Road Course every year prior to this event. Why doesn't that count as a road course? 11. Anonymous posted: 10.27.2010 - 7:56 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) @Sean because Daytona was oval shaped. 12. And the American car companies obviously got their asses handed to them by the foreign makes. 14. Biscuits in a Red Bull posted: 06.15.2011 - 2:07 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) All I know is that Jaguar ran a factory team with XK120s (the fastest car in the world at that point) and some privateers run some as well. No suprise the Jag won on a road course, as they are Brits and are just supremely fast everywhere other than ovals! So the cars being run are '54 Jaguar XK120 Tin-tops., as convertibles would be in the Convertible Division. 16.
