He's great here, so it'll be fun to see him make his way through the field. Gaulding gets a nice starting spot. Hopefully he doesn't take his head off his shoulders and drive like a complete asswipe like he has many times already in his career. 3. For those saying that maybe he'll stop running trucks, you really don't worry in the first place. He had a whopping 5 truck starts last year, this was his 3rd of 2014. The most he's had in one season since 2005 is 6. 73. BMan0213 posted: 08.21.2014 - 11:51 am Rate this comment: (2) (0) I have no Problem with Brad winning especially with this only being his 3rd start in the series this year. Cup drivers racing in the lower series has been around since these series formed. Its not like this its a problem that has just started. I will say there is a problem with how much these guys run in these series tho. Back when Mark Martin was king of the Busch Series he only run about half the races in the season (say 14 races or so). Now its not uncommon for someone like Kyle to run about 2/3 of those races or more which comes out to somewhere in the mid 20's. There is another way to fix this tho besides limiting the drivers like everyone wants to. That way is to make more standalone races. In the standalone races for nationwide this year i feel Brad at Iowa and Kasey and Kyle Larson at Chicago were the only cup drivers to show up. In the trucks I actually feel like there hasn't been a cup driver to show up to one of their standalone races this year. 74. He won a minor league race against a top tier Cup driver who the world loves to label as "the best driver in NASCAR", former truck champions, former cup drivers, and teenagers. 75. I'm amazed it took this long as Keselowski came up through the ranks into the Truck series and ran the series full time in 2005, launched himself to NASCAR superstardom with a great run subbing for Ted Musgrave in 2007, and has run part-time in the series since 2010 but just never got to close the deal. Great to see him win. The victory is the second for the Keselowski family in the Truck series as Brad's ARCA champion father Bob Keselowski was one of the series' original regulars and scored a victory at Richmond in 1997. (Bob and Brad both have other wins as owners) This is the first win for a Ford truck in 2014. 78. However, the fact that 3 trucks for 3 different teams in the top 10 all got spoiler height violations is a bit strange, though. How often does that happen? I watched the replay though. Despite Brad and Kyle's domination, I thought it was a pretty cool race. 108. Watching Kez and Busch battle for the lead in the opening laps was exciting, especially when Brad went 3-wide for the lead with lapped trucks and made it stick! It was essentially the two of them racing each other for the lead all race long, and I'm fine with that! Just because a few Cup guys are in the field doesn't automatically make it a terrible race. 110. So that means the only teams that are able to contend for a win on a regular basis are Kyle Busch Motorsports, Brad Keselowski Racing, and Thor Sport Racing. So as of right now this series is even less competitive the the Nationwide series. 114. He had a good chance at a solid points finish and one last really good season but it all ended after this race. I think he could've easily won a race or two and really come on strong late, if his 2011 season was any indication. 118. Tarheel posted: 12.19.2018 - 7:37 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) 117, agreed. Ron and his team were really coming on, he 27 points out of the lead with nine races left, he could have made a run at the title if the bottom hadn't dropped out. 119.
