The fewest laps in which they did not complete by a champion. 7. ii posted: 09.05.2010 - 7:29 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Only race ever for trucks to run on 3/23 8. They tore down the track, and the lot has sat dormant ever since :( At least Kern County was built, so hopefully this won't be the last Truck race for the Bakersfield area. Miller used his advanced knowledge of his local track to turn in a great Truck series debut, qualifying and finishing in the top-10. This would be his only top-10 finish among his 11 Truck series starts. 11. This was the first of three wins for Setzer and the Morgan-Dollar Acxiom team during this season. The United States invaded Iraq, starting off the many year long war there, in the days leading up this race. SPEED Channel's broadcast of this race began with Brendan Gaughan and all of the drivers in this race posed together on the track with Gaughan speaking on behalf of the drivers, their teams, and the series' fans to wish America's troops good luck and "we hope you come home safe" in recognition of their efforts. After Setzer won the race his crew quickly attached a pair of little American flags behind the cab of his truck before he started doing his victory donuts to add a little patriotism to the affair. 12. This would turn out to be his only start in the series, he attempted a race at Memphis later in the series but did not make the field. 13. Bramblegrunt posted: 06.07.2018 - 5:08 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) The closing laps to this race, in traditional Bakersfield/Mesa Marin style are absolutely wild. For the final stretches of the race it really was not clear who was going to win between Pressley on older tires, Wood with newer tires and Setzer and Gaughan in the mix as well. Add in a thread of rain and even sprinkles coming down, urgency was really up in the closing laps. Gaughan looked like he was going to win but Setzer got him when they were battling lapped truck Kvapil. Setzer just out navigated Kvapil getting Setzer the win. 14. Anybody know what time this race started? Was it during or after the Cup race? 15. The Bristol Winston Cup race started at 1:00 and lasted about 3 1/2 hours, so that timing must have worked out well. 16.
