What a crazy race, but a cool battle at the end between Kyle, Sterling,
and Ryan.

Johnny Sauter had ignition problems while running fourth around lap
fifty. He went three laps down -- he made up two by himself and then got
a free pass with around twenty or thirty to go and fought back to finish
eighteenth. What a tremendous effort by a team that needed a spark; with
a third at Richmond and this run today, that'll certainly pick them up.

Kyle Busch was bad fast at the end. If Sterling had four tires, I think
he would've blown by him, but nonetheless good finishes.

Humpy has ruined Charlotte ... Clint Bowyer cut down a tire, ending his
relative consistent year ... Edwards had a junk car all night. Kasey
Kahne took one hard lick -- tire failure? After dominating early
portions of the event.

A jammed lug nut took Brian Vickers out of contention for the win at the
end.

This is the final race for Shane Hmiel in any NASCAR sanctioned event.
Shane's been suspended for life. It's a shame, he was a talented driver
but just couldn't kick the drugs.

NASCAR did what they had to do, though, to ensure the safety of every
competitor on track. It must've become obvious to them that Hmiel had a
serious problem that he could not curb, and to ever allow him to race in
NASCAR would only open up drivers to an artificial danger that doesn't
need to exist.

Hmiel had chances, a lot of them, and he blew every one. I hope that
USAC follows suit with NASCAR's ban - those Silver Crown cars are
fragile enough, and this year they'll be running some of the new SMI 1.5
milers. I would hate to see the results of a reckless overtaking
maneuver that Hmiel is so known for there ...

I also believe that part of the problem goes back to what must've been a
lot of irresponsible parenting on the part of Steve Hmiel. But that is a
debate for another board and another time.

Sterling almost had Kyle.

Would've been nice to see Sterling win this then turn it around in Cup.
Unfortunately, the four year old won the race.

This was Ryan Newman's only Busch series race in 2005 in which he didn't
win either the pole or the race.

People have demons they have to fight... and I'm sorry the bulk of you
never had that happen..and im glad. Shane was good, and God bless him I
hope he is again.

This was the first Busch race Kyle ever won as a moonlighting full-time
Cup driver.

The TV broadcast noted that Johnny Davis was serving as the crew chief
for his son Kertus Davis in this race.
