Irony for two drivers in this race: Paul Menard won his first Busch Pole Award at Kansas the week before, but he failed to qualify for this race. Joe Nemechek had just taken the lead from Casey Mears to lead lap 37, but he got loose and crashed in Turn 1, falling from 1st to 43rd instantly. He was also the Kansas winner the previous week. 7. The worst name, and sponsor, for a race ever. 8. biffle16 posted: 11.21.2006 - 10:33 pm Rate this comment: (1) (3) I thought the name of the race was cool, but of course, I'm only 14. 9. kirkyal posted: 02.20.2008 - 9:07 pm Rate this comment: (3) (0) talk about a stupid name... it was like when they named the cup race after the new batman film... what next legally blonde 4 500... 10. Johnson's car was adorned with the titular yellow sponge while Shrub's car was painted to feature Patrick the starfish. This was Jimmie's only Busch series start of the 2004 and his first since he moved up to Cup at the start of the 2002 season. 13. 44andJoe posted: 12.28.2012 - 3:04 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) #88 owner: Joe Nemechek 14. With a little over 20 laps to go, Robby was spun by Clint Bowyer coming out of turn 4. At this point, Robby's team had used their last set of sticker tires. However, NASCAR at the time would give cars another set of tires in the event of a damaged tire after they had run out of tires. This led to Robby spending the entire lap back to the pits attempting to flat spot his tires. Naturally, this was all caught on camera, and NASCAR obviously denied the team an extra set of tires. Robby then parked his car in frustration. 18. Wouldn't be surprised if a tire blew at speed almost immediately. 20.
