The first name of the driver of the #171 car was Bryan. Believe he is from Canada but I have no other info on him other than he ran in CASCAR before it was taken over by NASCAR. 34. gary24fan posted: 09.21.2017 - 12:48 pm Rate this comment: (0) (0) One more correction to post #32 above: #04 was Don Drake, Jr. Car number corrections: Harvey Sprague was #137 and Al Turner was #221. I think the 221 was not driven by Bentley Warren and can be taken off the DNQ list. Jay Cushman listed as #110 was actually #101 from what I can tell at Big Al's photo site at SmugMug. Still trying to find out what they made Kelly Moore change his car # to. He ran 17 and DW had that number. Not sure if they made him add a "1" or used Oxford's infamous plain number placards to change his number. Also DNQ'd were #08 Kevin Litchfield, #14 Ronnie Farnsworth, #16 Brad Gooden, #34 Herb Simpson, #39 Ron Moon, #64 Rick Gammon, #70 Bob Reynolds, #74 Steve Woodcock, #93 John Drew, #97 Wayne Elston, #102 Mark Cyr, #114 Dave St. Clair, #175 Ryan Karkos and #A1 Jim McGinnis. And yes in these days over 100 cars showed up for the Oxford 250. During at least the period 1980-1989 or so the race was sanctioned by NASCAR on their North Tour, BGN, or BGN North series' but run under Oxford's "Open Comp" rules which meant drivers and cars from those series, American-Canadian Tour, and any number of weekend warriors from various tracks in New England and Eastern Canada made the trek. Usually ACT and pro stock style cars had to run with extra weight due to their construction and fiberglass bodies making them much lighter than BGN/BGNN/NT cars with their steel bodies. 35. gary24fan posted: 09.21.2017 - 9:17 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) Received word from someone on the Facebook Oxford Plains historical page (and he provided a photo) that Kelly Moore was #117 for this race. 36.
