A really weird incident between Scotty Cain and the flagman happened
during this race.

Cain's car had come to a stop on an embankment on lap nine after
spinning to avoid a car. For the next ten or so laps almost a dozen men
tried to free Cain's car as it sat at the edge of the track. Cain who
was growing more and more furious at the lack of a caution and worried
about the people who were pushing him's safety. went across the infield
and threw his helmet at the flag man (Who was apparently also at the
infield). This drew him a $250 fine, but he had bigger issues as he was
already under scrutiny after a carburetor issue earlier in the season.
