It would be a bit of an ominous warning for the rest of the race. The wreck ended Powell's season early, too. Rod Schultz Jr. spun in turn 1 on the opening lap from P1 and stacked up the whole field, necessitating a red flag and full race restart. Schultz Jr. did not get the jump on the restart and ultimately spun again on the restart after the first official caution. He was not bailed out by a caution that time and refired, now a lap down. A clean and green run in the race ensued until Schultz Jr. spun on his own yet again on lap 50...and yet again the starter held onto his yellow flag. Schultz Jr. was three laps down by that point and thankfully kept it on the track over the last half of the event. First caution - 96 fire turn 1 Second caution - 23 slow on track (red flag #2) Third caution - 27 oil on track (yep, the leader broke refiring from the red flag. Red flag #3, coming right on up!) Fifth caution - 5, 68 accident frontstretch 5 sponsor - Yakima Implement ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
