This race came down to a final battle between Hamlin and rookie Brandon Riehl. Riehl passed Hamlin on the final lap but Hamlin spun him in Turn 4, beat all the competition to the line, and went to victory lane. NASCAR didn't appreciate the move and issued Hamlin a time penalty after the race, dropping him to eighth. Rhodes' victory snapped second-place finisher and points leader Chris Hart's three-race winning streak. Jason Jefferson records a top-5 despite a late spin when he hit oil from Jeff Bailey's blown engine, setting off a multi-car incident that brought out a red flag. Kevin Clark's second and final Northwest Tour start comes five years after his first but nets him a career-best top-10 finish. 2. Hamlin didn't wind up being the last car on the lead lap, as one could expect, because Jeff Jefferson's car was pretty thoroughly bent up from the final caution and was very slow, but clung to the end of the lead lap since there was a GWC finish. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
