To the rear - 16 - missed driver's meeting

Just a tip: if they draw the invert and you wind up on the pole, you
should probably make it a priority to be at the driver's meeting and
not, you know, have to drop to the rear of the field. Just a thought...

Travis Bennett, #53 American Dream Motorsports Chevrolet

Kevin Hamlin had a catastrophic rear end assembly failure at the end of
the second practice, so his team scavenged any and everything they could
from the part-time entry of his teammate Travis Bennett. It was a tough
break for Bennett, but Hamlin went out and won the race and extended his
championship point lead heading into the final event, so it would have
to be a worthy sacrifice for Bennett. Hamlin picked up his second
straight series title the next time out while Bennett scored his first
career top ten, so from afar I'd say it worked out alright. Bennett came
within a point of a championship himself in 2004 while driving for the
same ADM team.
