Butch Miller debuts new Timber Wolf colors on his Ken Smith Chevrolet as
the team changes numbers from #04 to Miller's traditional #52. The new
look was a good one for the Monte Carlo as Miller immediately took it to
victory lane in the 2003 season opener.

Late 1990s-early 2000s ASA staple and Marion County Sheriff's Office
Deputy Chief of Investigations Russ Tuttle makes his final start in the
series, placing just outside the top-10.

First caution - laps 6-10 - 6, 23, 55 accident turn 2
Second caution - laps 12-16 - 10, 44 accident frontstretch
Third caution - laps 22-31 - 07 stalled backstretch
Fourth caution - laps 53-61 - 22 accident turn 1
Fifth caution - laps 67-76 - 15 accident frontstretch
Sixth caution - laps 86-91 - 12 spun turn 2
Seventh caution - laps 132-136 - ??? (came back from commercial to pit
stops but no reason for the caution was ever given. It was implied by
the announcers much later that the 12 was involved in the caution though.)
Eighth caution - laps 146-155 - 23, 55, 98 accident turn 2
Ninth caution - laps 163-167 - 05 spun backstretch
Tenth caution - laps 177-190 - 7, 71 accident turn 3 (why is the 71 out
due to brakes you might ask? Spectacular brake fire after he spun out!
After the fire was put out on pit road, Gary St. Amant tried to take
some swings at Brett Sontag but their scuffle was broken up fairly quickly.)
Eleventh caution - lap 196 - 09, 5, 12, 53, 98 accident turn 1
