The ASA National Tour closes out its 2000 season with its only race at
the Gateway International Raceway just outside St. Louis.

Butch Miller's win here was the last ASA victory for any driver racing a
Pontiac.

Gary St. Amant was given a bottle of champagne to celebrate his title
after the race, popped the cork and took a big swig of it joking "I'm
not spraying mine, I'm drinking mine."

This race went the distance but it was close as the skies opened up in a
rainstorm just after the race finished.

1999 series champ Tim Sauter's last ASA race before moving up to the
Busch series ends in an early crash. He wouldn't run a full ASA season
again until 2004.

Busch Series-bound Scott Wimmer finishes runner-up in his final ASA
race. His brother Chris Wimmer inherited the #05 Chevy for 2001.

Dave Sensiba makes his last ASA start as a series regular. Peter
Cozzolino returns to ASA for the first time in two years, and his only
start of 2000, driving a second Screaming Eagle Motorsports Pontiac.

Paul Dallenbach records a top-20 in his final major stock car start in
any series.

The commentators for the race were Rick Benjamin and Steve Byrnes with
Jim Tretow and Bob Dillner on pit road.
