Mike Garvey picks up the win, his second over the course of three races, against one of the largest fields of the season and leads the most laps in the process. With his NASCAR Busch Series career coming to a premature end early 1990s ASA standout Glenn Allen, Jr. returns to the series for his first start in just under four years. Allen, a former NASCAR Busch Series Rookie of the Year, took over the Goodwrench #4 Pontiac following Derrick Gilchrist's two race stint in the car, finished just outside the top-10 here, and would run the car for the rest of the season. Short track favorite Bobby Gill returns to ASA for his lone start of the 2000 season, and first overall in nearly three years, and qualifies right at the front of the field but finishes poorly after crashing out. 2. kornnut43 posted: 11.30.2018 - 9:37 am Rate this comment: (3) (0) I live in Atlantic Canada, and we've never really had racers come from our neck of the woods to race with some of the best in the US... except one. The morning of this race, my mother and I were watching Raceday on TNN when the ASA race report started. There was some Canadian hotshot rookie by the name of Scott Fraser starting on the front row, and we both started whooping and hollering. I know that sounds silly, but we had no idea Fraser was going south to run some ASA races. It wasn't long before this that we had seen him dominate at our local track, New Brunswick International Speedway (now known as Speedway 660). He put together some quality runs in that series, and he made us all extremely proud. While he never could quite get into victory lane, he gave us locals something to cheer for, and it was amazing. Thanks for the memories, Scott. Hope you're resting easy. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
