I wasn't paying much attention during the off season but I remember at Phoenix last November one car ran the Ilkmore as a test against the NASCAR spec for compatability. I don't think that car was even officially scored for the race. Any of the West and East teams would have a lot invested in the NASCAR spec and might not want to spend money on the Illmore. 16. I was there so I haven't seen the broadcast, where I'd hope they tried to explain. I've been to countless races in the last 17 years, and am always that guy explain something to people around me. This time, I couldn't, and it was clear the teams didn't know either. I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt that they will learn from this. I mean, if I'm going to study up on how this is supposed to work so I know what's going on next race, I assume the teams and officials will do the same lol! Regarding the race itself, Ty had the best car all day by far and there was no way for him to lose without the chaotic rules and a green-white finish. Chandler did a great job to steal this one though, he was impressive. Self was impressive too, he had multiple mechanicsl issues early that set him back, and he kept recovering. Finally, the one that really surprised me was Gray. He's come a long way in the last year. On a final note, they had an open garage session to watch inspection, car preparation, and a driver meet and greet. What blew my mind was Deegan had a huge line, 75+ people, while Chandler Smith, Drew Dollar, and Sam Mayer sat together with no line at all. Ty Gibbs was not far away and had a 5 person line. I couldn't believe how many people there had only heard of Deegan in the whole field. It was also disappointing that Self didn't come out, but he gets bonus points for the inflatable dinosaur on top of the hauler! Smith and Dollar seemed to be the ones that most enjoyed fan interactions, so hopefully they gained a few followers following the race. 95. The position contesting was the one prior, & that took x10 laps. The caution for Gracie Trotter earlier in the race also took x10 laps of caution, which seemed unneccessary. Whether ARCA themselves or a by-product over sorting b/c of the pit rules, restarting issues were a common theme of the race. 104. rm posted: 03.07.2020 - 11:49 am Rate this comment: (0) (0) Was told the race director last night was one of the regular rotating race directors for the Cup series, so have fun looking forward to the rest of the weekend now. 105. 66LongFan posted: 03.07.2020 - 11:49 am Rate this comment: (1) (1) Thank You ARCA For Ruining my dream of being a professional pit crew member. that race and those pit stops were a "COMPLETE JOKE". Usually it doesn't take this long for full data to appear. 109. JSPorts posted: 03.07.2020 - 12:53 pm Rate this comment: (1) (0) I like that the results are already out. Starting positions shouldn't be that hard to update, and we should get laps led data soon from NASCAR (as well as standings.) 110. Tom Berte unretired, again, and made his 69th ARCA start - all coming after the age of 60. It didn't go very well, though, as he had a run-in with Nick Sanchez under green and nearly took out pseudo-teammate (Berte was driving a Venturini car) Drew Dollar as well. For reference, Berte attempted three races before Jesse Love, the youngest driver in the field, was even born. 121. Unsure if this is a mistake, a very early withdrawn entry, or if they had committed early on to run all of the team cars before backing out. 124.
