Hill was pretty decent on the dirt tracks,also winning at the Illinois
State Fairgrounds in '94,and at Du Quoin in '95.

DuQuoin installed hay bales as padding in front of the outside guard
rail in the turns, part of a safety measure. On lap 2 a big crash broke
out and Mike Buckley launched over Mike Lorz's car and wound up on top
of the hail bales somehow.

Remember being at this race as a kid. Was pulling hard for Kenny Wallace
as he was the only driver I knew in the field. Had a great run but cut a
tire late in the race cost him the win. Had a great time nonetheless as
seeing stock cars live in my area was always great. My only regret is I
never went to this race as part of the Du Quoin state fair when Schrader
or Stewart was racing.
