The team made the adjustment to its normal black paint scheme to honor the memory of those lost in the crash of TWA Flight 800 just three days earlier. It was a personal cause for Alexander, he attended Montoursville Area High School growing up and 16 students and five chaperones from the school's French Club died when the Paris-bound plane crashed. Alexander and his team dedicated their performance in this race to the fallen and recorded a top-5 finish in their memory. The Pocono Raceway also flew its flags at half-staff throughout the week to honor those on the flight. Ron Barfield, Jr.'s Bill Elliott-prepped ARCA cars were normally red but his #94 Ford Thunderbird had a blue livery for this race. This was a year before Awesome Bill ran the "Mac Tonight" car so it was weird to see a blue McDonald's car in any capacity. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ *Post a comment:* Your comment may not appear immediately - all comments must be approved by the moderator.
