ARCA veteran Jerry Churchill finally picks up his first and only ARCA
victory.

This was also the first Chrysler LeBaron. The slick little Mopar would
have a solid record in ARCA but was never legalized for NASCAR competition.

A huge brawl between four pit crews broke out in this race after some
bumping went on between Churchill and Mark Gibson, I believe. The
Bowsher and Venturini teams were also involved.

Why was the race only 143 laps ?

This race was actually extended -- not shortened -- from 125 laps to
143. Probably for the usual reason that races get extended.

Race was extended to 143 laps due to ARCA rule that the last two laps
must be run under green. From comments on a recent post in the ARCA
Racing Memories FB group, Churchill had spun several guys out in the
waning laps in order to take the lead, which caused the fight.

There were 9 cautions for 77 laps.

Lap Leaders: Churchill 1-93, Keselowski 94-103, Churchill 104-113, Smith
114-142, Churchill 143.

Churchill spun Gibson on the last lap and won when he got by Bowsher,
who passed Churchill but then hit Gibson's spinning car. After the
checkers flew, Bob Keselowski drove his crashed-out car back onto the
track and ran Churchill into the fence on the frontstretch, to protest
Churchill's involvement in Keselowski's race-ending crash 20 laps prior.
It was at this point the massive multi-team donnybrook broke out,
apparently. Strait and Gehrke's crews also joined the melee.

Churchill's winnings - $3,450 (a fine was levied before Churchill's team
even left the track)

It looks like both of the 1995 ARCA races from Kil-Kare are on Youtube,
but not this one. Would love to see how all that went down!

Donnie Moran drove the #99 Ronald Moran Productions Chrysler owned by
Ron Moran.

Gary Hawes didn't start but he did qualify in the #95 MB Windows Pontiac
owned by Garnett Hawes Jr.
